The Beginning - My second project

The first time I took some stain to a freshly sanded piece of furniture, I fell in love. The way the wood absorbed the stain, the fact that I just realized I could change every piece of wooden furniture in my house if I wanted to, the way the paintbrush was my magic wand.

It was exciting!

I lived in an apartment at the time, it was in the middle of winter so the only place I could really paint was in my tiny dining room. I did the sanding by hand on my balcony. I really had no clue what I was doing and this was before Pinterest. I don’t even remember how it turned out and I’m not sure but I believe it was a table of some sorts. My main memory is that first time the stain met the wood and that was all she wrote!

The sad part about it is that I don’t have any pictures of what that first piece looked like unfortunately. But I do have my second project that I have to share because as the saying goes, it’s about the journey and not just the destination! Hopefully I phrased that correctly! So without further ado……..:.

 Project: (circa 2014-2015)

A vintage children's desk that I stained and then painted every other piece a light teal color and then I thought it would be such a cute idea to make the table part a little chalkboard

It turned out really cute and I did end up selling this piece for $65 instead of $75 but that was still a win in my book!
